As open space and local farms continue to give way to development, Shelton is proud to boast a long and on-going tradition of agricultural heritage. Throughout Shelton you will not only share the experience of our rich farming history, but also find some of finest and freshest locally grown fruits, vegetables and farm products in the state. In addition, our weekly downtown "Farmers’ Market" offers the best of the region’s produce, fresh from the fields and arrayed in tempting display.
Where else but Shelton can you discover the rich selection and healthful benefits of our sun-ripened harvest, while beholding the splendor of our peaceful hilltop vistas and rolling hills? Take the time to step back into a unique American tradition. Explore our scenic back roads, visit our historic homes and expansive gardens — maybe even make a friend or two along the way. Find out what others already know: once you’ve come, you’ll be back, time and time again.
